A: No... tourism businesses in Zones A & B are automatically presumed to have causation. Tourism businesses in Zones C & D must satisfy a causation test. The "BEL RTP Chart" on Google Drive has a summary of this information, and it can also be found in the training presentation. Audience Question Q: When a company own several locations in the zones and the locations all have one owner do we have to do a cc package for each. I know we will need P&Ls for each. Tim L A: One Business Economic Loss packet will suffice for multifacility businesses, but we do need the addresses of their physical locations and segregated financials if available. Audience Question Q: How do I set up my "landing page"? A: ClaimsComp will set that page up for you. Q: does the business owner or the individual have to have been in business or employed for the entire 60 months that were are requesting Audience Question Q: How would a couple that had/owned rental property but had decline in rent and also later lost the property to foreclosure file a claim? A: The BEL claim would be related strictly to the rental business. If the property foreclosed in 2010 or 2011, it may be considered a Failed Business claim if rental activity ceased at that time. Our office will evaluate that and advise you on how to proceed, should that be the case. Otherwise, if the foreclosure was in 2012, then we would treat this as a normal BEL. Audience Question Q: The excel form you sent only allows for profit. Is that all you need to determinecausation? A: Causation tests are based upon the total revenues (not profit) for each month from 2007-2011. Audience Question Q: Do we tell client which documents they need to submit or does CCtell them when they make initial contact? A: You should always prepare the client for the documentation requirements. CC will specify in outbound emails to clients the documents needed... but to be successful, you will want to review the documentation guide with the client. Audience Question Q: Can you please explain the referral agent who receives 3%.... do they need to apply as a Claims manager? or is there a separate application A: The 3% referral fee is paid to anyone who refers a claim to you that is filed and the claimant receives a settlement payment. No contract is required -- they will receive a W-9 if they are due a referral fee.. Just make sure that you enter the "Referrer's" name when you're entering the client information in the LP or entering a Lead in Zoho.
